Here is some information regarding our group:
What is LEAHI? LEAHI (LEGO Enthusiasts Association of Hawaii) is a group of fans who enjoy modeling with LEGO bricks and working to promote interest in LEGO products within the community, both locally in Hawaii and on the Internet.
When did LEAHI get started? LEAHI began in 2003 by a few Hawaii AFOLs* who decided to share their interests in LEGO as a group. The activity of our group waned somewhat in subsequent years, as our members pursued other interests, but we are rolling along now, better than before, with more interest in LEGO products and community involvement!
Doesn’t LEAHI mean something in Hawaiian? Yes. Besides being the name of our group, Leahi is also the Hawaiian name for the famous landmark known as Diamond Head, which is also known as Kaimana Hila.
How much does it cost to join LEAHI? Annual membership dues are as follows: $10.00 - Individual Annual membership $20.00 - Ohana (Family) Annual membership [For families, up to 2 adults and 2 children. Additional children $5.00 per year]
Dues are usually collected at the beginning of each calendar year, and are used to offset club expenses (including, but not limited to) prizes, promotions, t-shirts, etc.
What are the Membership benefits? · Subscription to the LEAHI members mailing list. · The opportunity to display your models at LEAHI meetings and shows, and to buy/sell/trade LEGO with other members. · Sharing building ideas and having a fun time with dedicated fans of LEGO products. · Chance to win prizes in member building competitions.
How often do LEAHI members meet? Members meet once every other month to discuss LEGO products, upcoming events, building techniques, and to share our own creations and camaraderie.
How can I join LEAHI? If you are 13 years old or older, and reside in the State of Hawaii, you can become a member of LEAHI.
